Dr. Sosunmolu Shoyinka is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and a Fellow of the Philadelphia College of Physicians. He trained at Yale, Columbia, and NYU, is Triple Board certified and holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business. He has testified before Congress on access to mental health services.

Dr Shoyinka served as the Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), where he led the redesign of Philadelphia’s crisis system and the implementation of 988. Philadelphia’s work on Crisis Services and 988 implementation has been recognized as a model for crisis services by the Biden Administration.

For his work, Dr Shoyinka was awarded a Special Presidential Commendation Award and the Jeanne Spurlock Minority Fellowship Achievement Award by the American Psychiatric Association. He has served on the Board of the American Association for Community Psychiatry and the Medical Director Institute of the National Council.
